Shopify handles hosting, uptime and PCI compliance so you don't have to think about them, which is exactly why most merchants choose it. The tradeoff is less control over checkout unless you're on Shopify Plus, and a theme architecture (Online Store 2.0 sections) that rewards being built properly instead of hacked together from a marketplace theme.

Can we fully customize Shopify's checkout?
Not on standard Shopify plans, that's one of the platform's deliberate limits. Shopify Plus opens up checkout scripts and more customization. If checkout flexibility is a priority and you're not on Plus, we'll flag that before recommending Shopify at all.
Shopify vs WooCommerce, which is right for us?
Shopify if you want hosting and infrastructure handled for you. WooCommerce if you're already running WordPress and want everything, content and commerce, in one system you fully control. Both are solid choices for the right situation.
Do you build custom Shopify apps?
Yes, when the existing app ecosystem doesn't cover something specific your store needs. We'll also point you toward an existing app first if one does the job well, rather than building custom for its own sake.
Can Shopify run headless, like your WordPress setup?
Yes, through Shopify's Hydrogen framework, which pairs Shopify's commerce backend with a custom React frontend. Worth it when frontend flexibility or page speed matter more than Shopify's own theme layer.
