Magento & Adobe Commerce Development

Custom Magento and Adobe Commerce development for large, complex catalogs: upgrades before your version loses security support, multi-store setups, custom modules, and the performance work these platforms need to run well.

Overview

The right tool when the catalog is genuinely complex

Magento (Open Source, self-hosted) and Adobe Commerce (Adobe's managed version with added enterprise features) are built for a different scale of problem than Shopify or WooCommerce: large catalogs, multiple stores or currencies from one install, complex pricing rules. That power comes with real overhead, both platforms need more careful performance work and ongoing maintenance than a hosted alternative.

We build custom themes and modules, configure multi-store setups where one Magento install runs several storefronts, and spend real time on performance, since an unoptimized Magento store is one of the most common ways this platform gets a bad reputation it didn't earn.

Support deadlines matter here too. Magento 2.4.6 reached the end of regular support in August 2026 and 2.4.7 follows in April 2027, after which Open Source stores stop receiving security patches. If your store is on one of those versions, the choice is an upgrade to a supported release or a move to another platform, and we'll help you weigh both honestly.

Questions

Common questions about Magento projects

4 questions

Is Magento overkill for a smaller store?

Usually, yes. Magento's strengths, multi-store management, complex pricing, large catalogs, don't pay off for a small, straightforward store, and the maintenance overhead is real. We'd typically recommend Shopify or WooCommerce instead unless your catalog genuinely needs Magento's structure.

Magento Open Source vs Adobe Commerce, what's the difference?

Open Source is free and self-hosted, with you responsible for hosting and scaling. Adobe Commerce adds enterprise features like B2B tools and page builder, plus Adobe-managed hosting options, at a licensing cost. Which one fits depends on scale and budget.

Do you handle Magento performance issues?

Yes, this is a common request. Slow Magento stores are usually a caching, indexing or query problem rather than a fundamental platform issue, and we'll diagnose before recommending a rebuild.

Our store is on Magento 2.4.6 or 2.4.7. What should we do?

Plan the next step now rather than after the support date passes. Upgrading to 2.4.8 or later keeps you on patched software for longer; if the upgrade is a large job anyway, it's a good moment to price a move to Shopify or a headless build alongside it. We'll audit your extensions and customizations and quote both routes.
